Nearby is the unique Farney Castle. A further 2km will bring you to Cormackstown Heritage Centre owned and run by Patrick Slattery who has a treasure trove to explore that is sure to stir memories of times gone by.

If you need to stretch your legs or have time out in the beauty of nature head to Templemore. Here you can choose between a walk in the town park, feed the ducks and say 'hello' to the Fairies. Alternatively, take a moderate hike up to The Devil's Bit or the Galtee's where you will be seduced with a breathtaking view across the rich agricultural land known as the Golden Vale.  Finally, no trip to Thurles would be complete without visiting Thurles Cathedral with its magnificent colourful interior and peaceful ambiance.

Tipperary is famous for it's heritage and culture, the infamous Rock of Cashel also known as the Cashel of the kings and St Patrick Rock is a historical site in Cashel, 15 minutes drive from The Anner Hotel

Cashel Folk Village is a delightful series of informal reconstructions of various traditional thatched village shops, a forge, and other businesses, together with a penal Chapel.

Visit the attractive and elegant town of Cahir situated on the River Suir developed around the magnificent 13th Century Cahir Castle, Two kilometers from the town is the Swiss Cottage, a delightful 19th-century cottage orné, designed by Regency architect John Nash.

Located in the heart of the Golden Vale, Fethard Horse Country Experience offers visitors the opportunity to discover the rich culture, heritage and history of the region. Part of Ireland’s Ancient East, this state-of-the-art interactive experience examines the relationship between the people, the land and the horse revealing how they are all inextricably linked.
