There is a variety of historic attractions to visit during your stay. Holycross Abbey located just 7 km from The Anner Hotel , in the very heart of Ireland. Nearby is the unique Farney Castle. A further 2km will bring you to Cormackstown Heritage Centre owned and run by Patrick Slattery who has a treasure trove which is sure to stir memories of times gone by.

If you need to stretch your legs or have time out  head to Templemore. Here you can choose between a walk in the town park,  Alternatively take a moderate hike up to The Devil’s Bit or the Galtee’s where you will be seduced with a breathtaking view across the rich agricultural land known as the Golden Vale.  Finally no trip to Thurles would be complete without visiting Thurles Cathedral with its magnificent colourful interior and peaceful ambience.
